Our Restaurant of The Year Award (Formal) aims to celebrate the regions dynamic & diverse experiential fine dining. We are looking for restaurants where the diner is treated to an all-round experiential experience from when they arrive to the overall dining experience. Entrants must demonstrate their commitment to innovation, flair and creativity as well as providing a diverse offering to suit most palates. This award is open for all restaurants (formal) that offer impeccable service levels, memorable food and an evening that leaves the visitor wanting more. This is Manchester Awards, we aim to recognise & honour the hard work & commitment of the regions culinary talents!

The City of Manchester, and many of Greater Manchester’s boroughs, are fast becoming recognised for their diverse range of places to dine. Small towns across the region are becoming important travel destinations for foodie lovers. Thanks to the incredible work of independent restauranteurs in these areas, the region can proudly boasts countless quality smart casual restaurants and at This is Manchester Awards, we aim to recognise & honour the hard work & commitment of the regions culinary talents!

Greater Manchester is awash with incredibly talented chef’s, dedicating their lives to creating and re-creating the perfect menu. This award will recognise an individual who has the ability to lead, in culinary skills, different styles of cusines, execute a kitchen as an individual aswell as within a restaurant.
We’ve had some incredible restaurants open over the last few years in Manchester and the wider region. This Is Manchester are proud of what the regions chefs are delivering, and the contribution made in making Manchester one of the most liveable & likeable Cities in the World. This award aims to honour a chef with a stand-out talent in their kitchen, and someone who has significantly impacted a restaurant with their menu choice, ability to work within a team, commitment to the profession and any impacts they may have had within the community.

The Leading Bar award is open to individuals who run, own or manage venues that represent & champion both the daytime and night-time economy of Manchester.
Greater Manchester has a very diverse, distinct hospitality & lifestyle culture, with an incredibly vibrant bar/life scene. With a rich and eclectic heritage that earns envious glares, Manchester is the undisputed Northern lifestyle mecca. This award recognises the bars and bartenders that have set the standard for hospitality and innovation in Manchester.

Manchester’s hotel offering is stronger than ever. A city that has it all and caters for everyone from glitzy boutique hotels and listed landmarks to sleek modern skyscrapers, managed apartments to overnight stays on a tight budget. The City is growing at a fast rate, and our hotels are a vital cog in the continuous growth and improvements of the region. As the first aspect and experience of the city tourists and business visitors see, that first impression is vital.
This award is open to Independents & group hotels of any size, market level.

This award is open to Sports, Entertainment, Music, Live Events, Cultural Event, Festival Operators, Exhibition Organisers or for one off experience held in the previous 12 months.
The judges will be looking for something out of the ordinary, something that may have captured the hearts & minds of people in the region.

Manchester’s event scene is one of the best in the country, and the diverse and unique range of venues it has to offer contribute to this. Entrants All Manchester venues can enter this award; from hotels, dry-hire spaces, nightclubs to sports grounds.

The award aims to recognise the vibrancy and vitality of the rich cultural tapestry and its emerging presence across Greater Manchester.
Today’s cultural destinations are not just about art and education, they have become major social hubs for visitors to enjoy immersive experiences, spend time, dine, shop and work.
The award will shine a light on the most exceptional contributions to Manchester’s cultural offerings and showcase established and emerging destinations and attractions of equal significance. The entrants will highlight their cultural togetherness that unite communities and visitors alike, plus recognise their contributions to local economy and ability to attract in bound tourism.

Manchester was the beating heart of a vibrant and distinct textile industry throughout the Industrial Revolution. Without the hard work ethics, culture, heritage, vibrancy, the textile industry would not have the ability to support the evolution of British Fashion.

Manchester’s tech and digital sectors have transformed in the past five years and according to the latest figures we are the city with the most digital workers outside of London. You can just feel the pulse of tech flowing through the city’s streets.
This award aims to recognises incredible innovation within tech that is ground breaking or disruptive and has created exceptional results. It should have delivered clear and exceptional results and produced exceptional and quality ROI or improvement in communication, process or been a source of tech for good

From some of the world’s most recognisable sports stadia, to arenas and sports hubs, to the smaller local club venue, Manchester has it all. We take extreme pride in sport in Greater Manchester, and many budding talents hitting the world’s stage, across all types of sports, are being nurtured in Manchester. Tell us which venue deserves recognition for its outstanding performance over the previous 12 months, and why.
Entries should refer to specific successes and achievements of the venue in the past year.

This award is aimed at highlighting individuals who has made a significant positive impact within the local community, socially, culturally & economically. This year, we aim to visit all of our Individuals entrants to learn more about what they do and the important contribution they are making within their communities. We hope this might help to raise the profile of the hard work they are selflessly undertaking.

This category aim is to ensure that organisations that are thriving to whilst making a difference within their local communities are recognised & championed. If you know of an organisation who deserves to be noticed, this is your opportunity to shout about them!
